Well here it goes. My recap of the "best night of my life".
On June 27th I met Ke$ha in Atlanta before one of her concerts. It was a flawless experience. We got there around 4:30, got out of the car and BATHED in glitter. Once we were properly glitterfied we walked over to the VIP entrance of the venue where Ke$ha’s cousin Kalan met us and gave us all of our gear (K$ tank, lanyard, dollar sign ring, tickets, koozie, and more). After she opened the gates and let us in we were led to a VIP party with food and drinks while we anxiously waited to meet Ke$ha. After about 20 minutes we were all lined up and ready to go back in groups to meet and take pictures with her. Me and two of my friends all got to go back together. The first thing I noticed when we walked into the area where Ke$ha was waiting was how absolutely stunning she was. I mean friggin gorgeous. I was the second person in or group to be able to talk to her so i waited for one of my friends to get done and then I walked over to her with a massive smile on my face. After handing her a letter I had written her she looked at me and said that she though I looked cute, stuck her arms out, grabbed me, and gave me a huge hug. After that magnificent occurrence, I asked her if we could take a picture of her on my back. She looked at me and said, “well are you strong?” When I responded with yes she said “are you sure because I really don’t want to hurt you.” When I promised her she wouldn’t hurt me, she had committed to jumping on my back. she put her hands on my shoulders and was ready to take a goofy picture when her security guard scolded us and said it was a poor idea. oh well. So to replace that picture that didn’t happen, i asked her if we could take a hugging picture. She responded with, “of course!!” and persisted to grab me and embrace me in a full on hug again. After that we tooka group picture and our time with Ke$ha was up. I honestly think I could have stayed there and talked to her for hours. I had so many things I had intended to ask/ tell her but in the midst of it all I completely forgot them. Starstruck doesn’t even begin to explain it.
After walking out of the room with her I was in utter shock and awe. There were no words. I just looked at my friends (one of them crying) and couldn’t even formulate a sentence. We met up with 3 other die hard Ke$ha fans and decided that we were going to spend the rest of the evening with our group of 6 “rowdy misfits”. The 6 of us were standing around talking when Kalan Sebert approached us and began to make small talk. She asked us random questions about our lives and told us about how she would love to take us backstage again but the venue (not K$) had hired her for this event and therefore, that was against their rules. She talked to us for about 15 minutes and then had to go on to do her job. When she walked away we all moved into the arena to find our seats. On the third row. While the opening act was going on i looked to my left and saw a little kid with long blonde hair standing about a yard away form me. I though it looked like Ke$ha’s kid brother form the back so I yelled his name and sure enough it was Louie Sebert. He came right over to me with a big smile and agreed to take pics with us. After taking a few pictures he had to go get ready for his sister to perform so he ran off to get his camera.
Shortly after meeting Louie the concert started and It went on with zero flaws. It was fantastic. In the end I ended up taking home 2 $bills with Ke$ha’s face on them, streamers, confetti, glitter, and a light up beach ball that Ke$ha kicked of the stage and somehow ended up in my arms.
The only bad thing about this night was that it didn’t last forever. Meeting her truly was my dream come true. A lot of people say that she cant sing, she’s ugly, or that she’s a bad influence, a bad person, and just plain trash. Say what you will but the woman I met onJune 27th was a genuinely kind, beautiful, caring, and loving individual. I never would have expected a pop star (much less my favorite pop star) to be so real with every person she meets. I don’t care how people feel about my love for Ke$ha, it’s not going to change. I find her to be a major inspiration and I adore her not only as a singer but also as a human being. My dreams came true on Thursday and the experience was so worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
“Animals, crazy kids, warriors. We have gathered here for one reason. We have tonight to be free. It is wee who are the wild ones, the misfits, the dreamers. We live every night like it’s our last. So join me in this fight for acceptance: to accept each other, and ourselves. As without acceptance there is no love- and love is the magic of life.” -Ke$ha
